Verstappen's race ruined over Piastri action: The Australian is heavily penalised!

A filmmaker with a soft spot for Ronnie Peterson, Gilles Villeneuve, Mika Hakkinen and above all, Tazio Nuvolari and Ayrton Senna, is also a diehard Formula One fan since the age of 4 (mid-90's). An avid researcher of the past of Grand Prix Racing since before it was even named F1, and with a thirst for knowledge of the ins and outs of the actuality of the sport, as well as for the technical aspects that define it, is a member of GPblog since 2023, where he has put his love of racing to good use.
As the race was set to restart, Oscar Piastri undertook what could be a reprehensible action, that derailed Max Verstappen's race.
The Safety Car was coming into the pits, and whilst the field was approaching Stowe corner, Piastri slammed on the brakes which caused Verstappen to overtake him momentarily, which the Dutch driver criticised on the onboard radio: "Whoa mate, ****! He just suddenly slows down!"

Coming out of Stowe, Verstappen then spun his RB21 as the field sped away. Fortunately the race did not end there for the Dutchman, who managed to come to grips with his car, mitigating his position loss to 8.
The race officials then slapped Piastri with a 10s penalty making Lando Norris, his teammate and championship rival the de facto leader of the chaotic British Grand Prix.
