Verstappen reveals whether he expects Hamilton in his mirrors soon

Currently, all eyes are on McLaren, the only team that has managed to pose a serious threat to Red Bull Racing in recent times. However, Mercedes have also made clear progress with their latest upgrade package. Can Max Verstappen expect Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in his mirrors soon too?

McLaren as well as Ferrari and Mercedes have made great steps ahead recently. Lando Norris, in particular, manages to put Verstappen under real pressure as well. Asked about his expectations of Mercedes during the rest of the season, Verstappen replied, "It all depends on what the teams are going to bring to their car."

"I mean, I cannot look into what they're doing at the moment. The only thing that I can control is within our team what we are going to bring. And that's what I'm focused on," the three-time world champion added.

"Of course, you can dream about potential improvements from other teams, but that's just a waste of energy. So I'm just very busy on trying to optimise my package and try to make it better, discussing a lot of things with the engineers and try to find solutions to stay on top," Verstappen concluded.
