Verstappen celebrates: Dutchman officially clinches title!

Jos Verstappen secured the Belgian Rally Championship title today.

The 53-year-old was in action on Saturday at the East Belgian Rally. Driving for Verstappen.com Racing in a Skoda, the former F1 driver finished in third place today.
With co-pilot Renaud Jamoul, the father of the reigning Formula 1 world champion secured the Belgian series championship with a race to spare.

“This was not the most interesting rally for us, because we made safe choices in terms of tyres," he said about today.
"At the end we did have the right tyres under the car and things went a bit better. During the final stage, we drove calmly. We wanted to clinch the championship, that was the most important thing."
"You always want to be as prepared as possible at the start with the right people in the team. My co-pilot Renaud is of course very important in that picture," he continued.
"We have that well organised and I enjoy competing at the front. Having fun is important and only then come the results. We are very good now, that also brings pleasure", he concluded.
