Max Verstappen didn’t have the weekend he had hoped for at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Still, the reigning world champion stressed that he remains fully united with his team, Red Bull Racing.
“I think it's always just very important to just stay true to yourself. That is sitting here, but also being with the guys." Verstappen said in the latest episode of Red Bull Racing’s YouTube series, Beyond the Charge. "I mean, you know, we all had our moments of success and of course, success can get success you can get used to, but at the end of the day it's just important that you always want to try and be better, you always try and want more, but in a healthy way, and not suddenly try to feel like you're a rock star."

Max Verstappen’s grounded nature was clear when he spoke about his family. Even when things don’t go as planned, like last weekend in Hungary, knowing that his girlfriend Kelly Piquet and their daughter Lily are there for him always makes everything better.

Alongside Kelly and Lily, this is also Verstappen's family

Verstappen continued his praise for his team by emphasizing that he really feels at home with Red Bull. “For me what has always been really nice feels like a second family when I'm here. That's why I feel like when I walk into when I walk into the garage, there's nothing that feels awful weird, you know, you're just one of the boys and you just jump in the car." Verstappen concluded.
I'm just one of the guys and I push the car to its limits.

The love between Red Bull and Verstappen is clearly mutual. Laurent Mekies has said that many people don’t fully appreciate how important Verstappen is to the sport. Gianpiero Lambiase added that the Dutchman always manages to get the most out of a car. Thanks in part to feedback from the reigning world champion, the engineer is optimistic that better times lie ahead for Red Bull Racing. As for Verstappen, the atmosphere within the team is definitely not a problem.
