Max Verstappen has responded to recent remarks by Helmut Marko that his form has improved since the second half of the season. "I've been at a very high level all season.”
- Max Verstappen Earlier, Marko had claimed that Verstappen was performing at a higher level, particularly since the resumption of
Formula 1 after the summer break. However, speaking via Viaplay, Verstappen insisted he has remained at a high level all season, before detailing how he enjoys the results recorded more by the team currently.
"I've been at a very high level all season. That has nothing to do with the car being good now.”
"Of course, I enjoy it more now. It's always more fun to fight for the win than for fourth place. I know that I always give everything in the car. That's how I've been prepared from a young age."

Verstappen continued his resurgence with a victory at the
United States Grand Prix. The 28-year-old has since
cut the gap to championship leader Oscar Piastri to 40 points, from a staggering 104 as at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Verstappen on 2025 title chances
However, the Dutch driver stated the need for the team to continue on a similar trajectory for such an achievement to come to fruition.
In any case, if Verstappen clinch the 2025 drivers’ title, he will have overcome the biggest points deficit in a Formula 1 championship fight in the history of the sport.
The sport now heads next to Mexico, for the
Mexican Grand Prix - a venue where Verstappen has previously triumphed five times.
