Norris on booed Verstappen: 'No booing, Max is a lovely guy'

Max Verstappen was booed by British fans at Silverstone prior to the British Grand Prix. Lando Norris stood up for the Dutchman and told the fans not to do that. Verstappen himself mainly wants to have fun during the race at Silverstone.

Norris gave an interview for Formula1 ahead of the British GP during the drivers' parade. Right at that moment, Verstappen also passed by, which the fans clearly did not like: the Dutchman was booed heavily. " No booing, Max is a lovely guy," Norris told the fans. It is commonly known that Verstappen is not the favourite driver among the British.

Verstappen will start a Grand Prix from pole position for the fifth time in a row in 2023. The Dutchman told Formula1 his plan during the drivers' parade. "Have fun and hopefully of course we can have a good race. The car has been really good so far this whole weekend again, so hopefully we can show that today. Maybe some rain coming around, you never know."

At Silverstone today, Red Bull Racing can match the record for most consecutive wins. That record is currently held by McLaren; the British team won 11 races in a row in 1988. Verstappen is not concerned with the record. "Yeah, I mean it would be great, but, we're just focused on having a good result," he said.
