Max Verstappen believes the Spanish Grand Prix could be a season-defining race in the 2018 season. The Dutch driver has had a very messy start to the season and most recently crashed out of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after a clash with teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
Verstappen will be looking to make amends for his scrappy start to the year and with Spain being the scene of his record-setting first F1 victory, he believes that his team could be fighting at the top yet again.
“Everybody has done a lot of laps in Barcelona but I’m looking forward to seeing how the cars progress this year."
“We have many updates coming, hopefully they will be positive and we can be even closer to the front, but of course everybody else will also bring new parts.
“It could be quite a defining moment for the season and I’m interested to see how everyone will perform. I believe our car is very fast, we still need a bit more top speed but hopefully that will come.”
