Former Ferrari sporting director Cesare Fiorio offered Frederic Vasseur a crucial piece of advice on how to overcome the crisis that has hit the team so far this season.
In a 2025 season so far without any wins and only three podiums for Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur is facing a tough championship situation, especially given the high expectations at the start of the year.
Adding to this is a driver management approach that sparked controversy once again in Canada, with Lewis Hamilton growing increasingly frustrated by his poor results and lack of connection with his new car and team.
"Vasseur isn’t someone used to winning," Former Ferrari sporting director Cesare Fiorio Fiorio told Autosprint when addressing Ferrari's crisis.
"He’s always fought for midfield finishes, and now he’s doing the same. I think he’s the wrong man, but he made the right move by bringing Hamilton into the team, who can offer valuable support."

Ferrari should make better use of Hamilton’s potential?

According to Fiorio, although he doesn’t see Vasseur as the best team principal for Ferrari, the only move to make in this difficult moment is to fully rely on Hamilton’s experience.
“Hamilton finds himself fighting within a situation that isn’t really his own, but he still has huge and invaluable potential. He can provide the team with guidance and work methods that are worth their weight in gold''.
''He’s the one who needs to show the way and help Ferrari make the leap forward it needs to grow. Hamilton could be the team’s strong point and lifeline for Vasseur, who, at this moment, is still someone who hasn’t won anything.”
