Drama for Alfa Romeo: Bottas disqualified after qualifying

Valtteri Bottas will start from the pit lane on Sunday or else - if successfully granted permission - from the last place on the grid. Although the Finn ended the day in 15th place, a few hours after the session he was disqualified. Indeed, his Alfa Romeo had too little petrol on board, so race control could not take a sample for control.
That something was wrong with Bottas was already clear after his run in Q1. Shortly after the flag dropped, his car stalled along the track. It is now clear that he did not have enough fuel on board to make the trip back to the pits. As a result, Bottas could not be in action during Q2, although he had qualified for it.

Permission to race

Alfa Romeo has already officially asked the race committee whether Bottas can participate in the British Grand Prix. Permission to do so has since been granted by the stewards.
