Charles Leclerc stood on the podium for the first time in 'his' Monaco on Sunday. Indeed, he got to climb the top step immediately after leading the Grand Prix from start to finish. Afterwards, the Monegasque returned home on his bike, and the Tour de France - the biggest cycling tour of the year - played up to it winkingly.
Leclerc lives in Monaco and returned home by bike after all the festivities. The images of this circulating also reached the Tour de France. On X, the response was:'Don't push too hard Charles, save your energy for the Tour in July in Monaco.' The 2024 Tour de France will end with a time trial from Monaco to Nice.
Incidentally, Leclerc is certainly not the only driver residing in the principality. Monaco is also home to Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Nico Hulkenberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas, Alex Albon and George Russell.
