Daniel Ricciardo revealed who he would choose from the current grid if he took off his driver’s hat—and his pick was Max Verstappen, his teammate at Red Bull from 2016 to 2018. In a recent interview, the Aussie shared what he admires most about the now four-time world champion. On the podcast The Ariel Helwani Show, Ricciardo was asked to take off his ‘driver’s hat’ and put on a ‘fan’s hat’. The question: if he had to choose, who would he support?
The Australian's answer was clear in his answer: '
'For different reasons I guess Max Verstappen, because I think he is what he is. If he doesn't want to talk to someone in the media or whatever, he won't.'' Ricciardo also mentioned the Netflix series
F1 Drive to Survive: ''I think as some of the Netflix stuff now with a new season, I think he's said no to a few of the things. And so he kind of just has his way and he's just going to stick by it. You just get what you see.''He also added: ''A lot of people like also admire that and like that and he might not be the most approachable or the funniest or whatever but he is max and people know that that's what they're gonna get.''

Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull
Ricciardo was Verstappen's teammate at
Red Bull Racing until 2019. After that, he switched to the Renault team.
For the Red Bull team, he achieved seven victories. He looked back on the battle with Verstappen: ''He's a very hard racer and obviously people people like that ,so I definitely respect that.''
''I was his teammate so I've known him for quite a long time as well, and I've also seen him let's say mature and and kind of grow. So yeah, I not only have respect for him but I think what he does is kind of relatable to some as well.''
