Max Verstappen will be able to race in the Brazilian GP free from the fear of a potential race ban, unlike the worries that have haunted him in recent months. The four-time world champion has had to be extremely cautious on track since the Spanish GP, as his superlicense points were just one away from triggering a race ban — a concern he no longer has to worry about.
Verstappen arrives at the
Interlagos weekend with just six points on his superlicense, having cleared most of the points accumulated last year. Those points had still put him at risk this season, as, according to the regulations, superlicense points only expire after twelve months.
Oliver Bearman is also free from worry, for now. He remains the driver most at risk, but with just eight points on his superlicense, he will be able to race in Brazil without facing a potential race ban — at least for the time being.
Even Oscar Piastri, who was never actually at risk of a race ban, has had two points removed from his superlicense, bringing his total down to four.

It was a bitter Sunday in Mexico for Oscar Piastri, who not only finished off the podium once again but also lost the championship lead, with Max Verstappen now looming ever closer behind him.
