In the run-up to the final race of the Formula 1 season, in which the world champion of 2021 will be determined, everyone who has anything to do with it has been asked for his preference. Including Sir Jackie Stewart, who has already expressed his preference for Max Verstappen.
He expresses that preference again, although he fears it will be Lewis Hamilton. "The car, the engine — it gives Lewis the edge," he told Daily Mail. Mercedes has made huge strides in top speed since a few races, the area where the German team has always been supreme.

Stewart wants to see Verstappen become champion

Still, Stewart hopes Verstappen will succeed. "I’d prefer it to be Max, just because that’s what the sport needs, a new champion, and I’d love to see it from that wider perspective", explains the Scot.
Stewart does see one point where the Dutchman can make things difficult for himself from time to time. "Max has a slight tendency to overdrive and that may count against him," says the three-time Formula One champion.
