The stewards investigated Lando Norris after he almost crashed with Charles Leclerc in the sprint race. The stewards ruled that no action would be taken against the McLaren driver, and he could, therefore, just keep his third place. That will be welcome news for the McLaren driver, who won't see his World Championship deficit increase further.

Why the stewards didn't penalise Norris

The stewards reviewed all the data surrounding the incident. Leclerc believed Norris moved under braking. However, according to the stewards, there was no significant change in the way he moved under braking. The stewards, therefore, state that Norris' action in turn 15 was a legal defensive action.
According to the stewards, there was no question of 'erratic driving'. Norris himself said in the press conference that he was surprised that he was being investigated. The Briton had already stated at the time that the corner runs like that and that you simply have to brake there. Norris lost his P2 position early in the lap as he locked up.
