Kimi Antonelli is on the verge of becoming a Formula 1 world champion, and the Italian city of Imola is preparing to mark the occasion in a special way. With the Mercedes driver heading into the Mexican Grand Prix with another opportunity to secure his maiden title, fans will be able to gather at the city's famous racing circuit to watch Sunday's race together.
Imola to host free screening of Mexican Grand Prix
The excitement surrounding Antonelli's championship campaign has reached his home region of Emilia-Romagna, where the 20-year-old developed his passion for motorsport before making his way into Formula 1. After missing his first chance to wrap up the championship at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Antonelli will have another opportunity in Mexico City this weekend.
To celebrate the occasion, the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola will open its doors to supporters on Sunday, 1 November, for a free public screening of the race.
The event will be held in the Checco Costa Museum Hall, with a large screen allowing fans to follow the action from Mexico City. The initiative offers local supporters the chance to come together at one of Italy's most famous motorsport venues, rather than watching the potentially historic race from home.

Imola mayor Marco Panieri welcomed the plans, explaining how the city's traditional affection for Ferrari has been joined by growing support for Antonelli.
"Passion for Ferrari is part of our DNA and has always beaten strongly in all our hearts, but today that red loyalty is joined by enthusiasm for an extraordinary talent from our area who has everything it takes to make history," Panieri said.
"I invite everyone to take part. It will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, rally around a young talent from our area and share our passion for Formula 1."

Imola circuit prepares to welcome Antonelli supporters
Imola has a long association with Formula 1, having hosted the San Marino Grand Prix for more than two decades before returning to the championship calendar as the venue for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The circuit is also closely connected to Antonelli's upbringing. The Mercedes driver grew up in nearby Bologna, making the Emilia-Romagna region an important part of his journey towards the top of motorsport.
Pietro Benvenuti, general manager of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, expressed his hopes that the initiative would bring together supporters of different generations.
"We hope that the Checco Costa Museum Hall will be filled with fans and families on Sunday, ready to support Kimi and enjoy an evening of sport in the spirit of the passion that connects Imola to Formula 1," Benvenuti said.
