Sky Journalist takes social media action after 'disgusting comments' following heated interview with Verstappen

During the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen missed out on a podium finish and was involved in a collision with George Russell. In the aftermath, Verstappen initially declined to take responsibility for the incident, which became a key point of discussion. This tension carried over into a post-race interview with Sky Sports’ Rachel Brookes, who pressed the Red Bull driver on the clash.

The interview led to a lot of criticism on social media. Brookes has since turned off comments under her posts. Racing publication Motorsport-Total.com reported Brookes saying: “I will continue to post here as normal, but comments, tags, and mentions on Instagram and X are temporarily disabled. This is due to the huge amount of disgusting insults I've received after the Grand Prix of Spain.

“I might turn it back on later, but for now, the functions are off. It's time for a race weekend, which should be exciting!” Throughout the weekend, Brookes continued to post on her Instagram story, but the comments remain off.
