Last night there finally came the confirmation. Formula 1 will race through the streets of Las Vegas in 2023. This will make it the third American Grand Prix on the 2023 calendar, alongside Austin and Miami. The reactions to the new race are generally very enthusiastic and Sky Sports commentator David Croft can't wait.

Grand Prix in Las Vegas will be epic

Speaking to Sky Sports colleagues, Croft says the Las Vegas announcement was a long time coming, but confirmation only came this week. "There was talk of a race in Las Vegas before there was any talk at all of the Miami Grand Prix, which we are going to in May."
Las Vegas has been the setting for Formula One before, in 1981 and 1982, but the new event is going to look very different Croft thinks. "This is a much bigger prospect than that. It's huge." With that said, the Sky commentator also points to the cars that will be racing down the Strip at nearly 340kph. "It's going to be absolutely epic, a night race in Vegas."

Getting up early for the European fans

"It's a Saturday race so at least most people don't have to get up to go to work the next day," Croft remains positive.
