Before the first green light of the season, Liberty Media decided they were to ban the 'traditional' grid girls. The Singapore Grand Prix will join the Austrian and Russian races to go against this new rule.
The title sponsor of the race, Singapore Airlines are playing a big part in this move according to Yahoo Lifestyle.
"Our cabin crew are brand ambassadors for Singapore Airlines and will continue to play an integral role in the upcoming Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix," the company said in a statement.
F1 joined other sports, including the PDC side of darts, banning this sort of female presence. Public relations specialist Dean Shams explains the differences in ideology between the two companies.
"Liberty Media sees the grid girl as a form of sexism since they typically exude a sexual persona with their scantily clad outfits," said Sham on F1i.

"Singapore Airlines and Singapore, on the other hand, see Singapore girls as a local icon. In that respect, they seem like a good fit to represent Singapore's brand of uniqueness and hospitality."
