The plans are to start in Austria on 5 July, but in order to achieve this all persons involved will have to be tested for the coronavirus. This has to be done beforehand and the number of people on the circuit will have to be limited. That way racing would be responsible, but not if it will cost too many coronate tests.

Enough protective equipment

The teams will travel to Austria with fewer people, but in order to guarantee safety the persons will have to be tested regularly. There should be enough corona tests available for this, because according to McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl it's not morally justifiable to rush through it at high speed.
At Autosport.com Seidl says: "I think it's important that you only go back to go racing once we also have certainty when it comes down to protective equipment and that the number of tests for people are all in place. And, [that they] are available to people that actually need it, and that we are not the ones burning these tests or these materials, just for going back racing."

Public Opinion

So Seidl pleads for racing if nobody will suffer from it, he also keeps an eye on public opinion. "What I think is an important point is the public acceptance of events happening again." After all, it shouldn't send out the wrong signal. At the same time Seidl also expects that there is a lot of demand for races.
"I think there's a big desire from people, from the public, from the fans, that especially in these lockdown situations we are all in at the moment, that sport events are happening again - even if it's just on TV. But again, obviously, there's a lot of different aspects that need to be considered."
