McLaren were extremely impressive last season but as they launched the MCL35 there was an emphasis on not being complacent. Andreas Seidl who will hope to work his magic again in 2020 echoed this.
After a tough period for McLaren in the pinnacle of motorsport, the Woking-based team managed to secure a best of the rest finish in 2019. The new partnership of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris scored the team 145 points in total and the prior even achieved a podium at Interlagos.
Seidl arrived at McLaren in May last year and since then their form has been on an upward curve. However, the team principal stressed the importance of kicking on and not getting complacent if they want to close the gap to the leaders.
“Today is another step on our journey," Seidl told the McLaren website.
"It is important not to be complacent, this will be a tough season. Nothing comes easy in Formula 1 and the competition at the head of the midfield will be intense.

"We have six days of testing to prepare for the start of the new season and Carlos, Lando and the whole team here at the MTC and at track are ready. We go again.”
