Ralf Schumacher thinks the FIA is the loser of the year. According to the German they have reached a new low this season with their inconsistent decisions.
"The FIA is pretty much the loser of the year if you look at the decisions that have been made this season. The mess started already in Brazil", he tells Sky Germany.
Max Verstappen was not penalised for his action in Brazil in a fight with Lewis Hamilton. In the following races this caused a lot of confusion for drivers, because it was not clear what was allowed and what was not. The Dutchman was penalised in Saudi Arabia for a similar incident.

Understanding for Mercedes

Schumacher shows understanding for the way Mercedes acted last week. Earlier today the team announced that it will not further protest against the decisions of the FIA. The former F1 driver would have regretted it if they wanted to win the championship that way.

"Of course you have to pull out all the stops, but Max and his team did incredibly well in an insanely exciting race. He won fairly on the restart", Schumacher says. Tonight the FIA gala takes place, where Verstappen will receive his price as world champion. After that, everyone can hopefully enjoy a well deserved winter break.
