Schumacher dodges question: 'That's where my focus is'

Mick Schumacher has had a difficult first season in Formula 1. With Haas, the driver failed to bring in points, so he hopes for better performances in 2022. George Russell offers him hope in that regard, he hinted in an interview with Auto, Motor und Sport.
It was far from fun for Schumacher to drive his races last year. Because of the disappointing performance of the Haas car, it was impossible for him to compete with the other drivers on the track. It was therefore a matter of survival for Schumacher to do better a season later.
With his father Michael Schumacher, he experienced in the past what it is like to compete at the top. It will therefore not be his goal to continue driving for smaller teams in the coming years and never fight for the world title. Nevertheless, Schumacher realises all too well that it is up to him to surprise at Haas.

Schumacher hopes for move to bigger team

Russell managed to force a contract with Mercedes after a good season. Schumacher is hoping for a similar scenario in the coming years, although he is avoiding the question for now. "My focus is on next year. Everything else is too far away. I have to perform well next year first. If that is the case, I can look further into the future," Schumacher said.
