Sainz after surprising pole in Monza: 'Goosebumps thanks to the crowd'

The crowd went wild, Carlos Sainz enjoyed the cheers. The Spaniard took a handsome pole in Monza, in front of tens of thousands of fans. This obviously caused Sainz great satisfaction.

"Honestly, it's been quite an intense qualifying," Sainz said immediately afterwards. "All three of us, just went for it. I knew I had time to time in Ascari and Parabolica, and I just went for it. I had goosebumps after crossing the line to now."

Sainz realises that the prizes will be distributed on Sunday. "Tomorrow, I am going to give it everything to hold onto P1, have a good start and then go from there. I am going to give it everything, although Max is usually faster in race simulations."
