Sainz didn't have it easy at Red Bull: 'That's very hard'

Red Bull supports a lot of young talent, but the hard hand of Helmut Marko is sometimes a burden for young drivers. Carlos Sainz owes a lot to the Austrian, but also found it very hard.
In 2015 Sainz, together with Max Verstappen, will make his debut in Formula 1 at Toro Rosso. The Spaniard has been part of the Red Bull programme for years and has shown in several classes that he is one of the best talents. However, Verstappen will be preferred if a spot becomes available at Red Bull Racing and Sainz himself will join Ferrari via Renault and McLaren in 2021.

Sainz has a lot of respect for Marko

''It's very tough'', says Sainz about Red Bull's training. ''Red Bull can give you a lot and they certainly helped me in my career. Everything Red Bull does just works. They bring talent to F1. Yes, that's very hard, but they have to be. In the end, however, they are the ones who pay to give the drivers a chance, so you can be as tough as you want to be," says Sainz according to Motorsport-total.com.
The hard hand doesn't diminish the respect Sainz has for Marko. ''I really respect Marko for all the work he does. My father has also given me a lot of advice and one thing really stays in my hands: 'You have to bite when you're in this sport, otherwise you'll get bitten'. As a child I was too kind and relaxed. I had to become harder and more aggressive. From the age of eleven or twelve that really came into play'', concludes the McLaren rider.
