Nico Rosberg is happy that Formula 1 had new regulations last calendar year, which ensured that the cars were closer together. The simple world champion watched Grands Prix with more excitement as a result, he says on his YouTube channel.
Max Verstappen dominated most of the season, convincingly taking the second world title of his career. According to Rosberg, however, this did little to diminish the season's excitement, as the other drivers on the track did compete with each other and showed the spectators plenty of overtaking.
"Even though one guy dominated so much, it didn’t really make it boring. It was just so interesting all the time, so exciting, so many things changing – it was great," the German looks back on last season. He is therefore confident that the motorsport class will have another exciting year in 2023.

Rosberg expects excitement again this season

"The amount of overtakes [in 2022] compared to [2021], [there were] so many more, and that’s really just proof of how the new rules are working." In three years' time, the next big change in Formula 1 is scheduled. From that year, the new rules around the engine will be on the cards.
