Refueling has not been in Formula 1 for 10 years but many are calling for it to be reintroduced in the 2021 rule changes. Williams driver Robert Kubica says that he wouldn't ever have banned refueling as it improves the driving due to the fact that the cars are lighter.
“As a driver, I would never have abolished it. Of course, there are different opinions on this, but for a driver, refueling is really only positive. It makes the cars lighter and the baskets last longer," Kubica was quoted by RacingElite.com.
“The different amounts of fuel will make the wagons mix more and more. It is simply an extra factor that can positively influence the races."
A major argument against refueling is the safety element. If it is reintroduced then the FIA will have to introduce major safety equipment and manage it thoroughly to ensure no accidents happen.
