Daniel Ricciardo topped the timesheets in the first practice session of the Bahrain GP as Max Verstappen failed to complete a lap.
Ricciardo set a time of 1:31:060 and was three tenths clear of both Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen.
Verstappen suffered an electrical problem during his out lap and had to push his car back to the pit lane.
Reigning champion Lewis Hamilton set the early pace in the session, but ran wide a couple of times, which spoilt his fastest laps, leaving him down in fifth, one place behind Championship leader Sebastian Vettel.
It was another good session for Haas, who continued their form from last week, with Romain Grosjean sixth and Kevin Magnussen ninth.
However, Force India will be disappointed, Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon the slowest of all cars to set lap times.
