Wednesday saw Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo cover more laps than any other driver (165), while also breaking the track record (which has been broken again today by Vettel), causing the Aussie to say that Red Bull are going to be much closer to a title push than last year.
After his shift on Wednesday, Ricciardo seemed confident, but played down Red Bull's chances of being title favourites.
"I still don't know where Ferrari are. I'm quite confident Mercedes are still ahead of us but Ferrari I'm not sure. I think we'll be much closer than last year though."
Talking about his unofficial record-breaking lap, the Aussie was happy, but played down any significance that it had.
"There's faster times to come, but I think that for where the car is now and how the lap was, it wasn't too bad. I could have probably made in into the seventeens, but it was pretty good."
"I think we got the car running better today, got it faster, reliability was good, so it's getting there. I still think we need to find a bit more to realistically match Mercedes, but I don't think we're far behind. It's looking positive."
"We are looking pretty good. I think we're better than twelve months ago, let's say that much."
