Daniel Ricciardo does not believe
Max Verstappen and
Red Bull Racing will win all Grands Prix in 2024. The Australian does have a suspicion as to who will become this year's
F1 world champion.
After the first two Grands Prix of 2024, it may be clear that
Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing are the favourites for the world title. Having won 21 out of 22 Grands Prix last season, there is now talk of a year in which Red Bull Racing could possibly win everything. However, Ricciardo does not think so.
Ricciardo sees Verstappen as favourite
In an interview with Sky Sports, Ricciardo is asked who will be world champion in 2024. "As a driver you never want to… Because if I don't say myself, then everyone is like, “oh why doesn't he believe in himself.” So, yes, you have to be realistic. But I will say who the favourite is, and I think the favourite for now is Max."
"But people saying they're going to win every race. No I don't believe that, it's a long championship and many things can happen."
For Ricciardo, the F1 world championship has yet to really begin. The Australian has yet to score any points in the first two races, finishing 13th in Bahrain and 16th in Saudi Arabia. His teammate
Yuki Tsunoda also beat him twice in qualifying, and he has already received a warning from
Helmut Marko.
