Full results | Verstappen wins, Hamilton misses out on first podium in 2024

After a race full of changeable weather and a lot of overtaking, it was ultimately Max Verstappen who won the Canadian Grand Prix. With several safety cars and a lot of pit stops, it was a chaotic race. Lando Norris took second place after a strong race. George Russell finished third.

A lot of rain had fallen prior to the Grand Prix. Consequently, the race started on intermediate tyres. It was then dry for a while, so the tyres wore out quickly. The drivers just could not change tyres easily as some rain fell again around lap 28.

George Russell started the race from pole position but was then overtaken by Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. After a safety car caused by Logan Sargeant, the Dutchman moved into the lead. After new rain and another safety car, it was eventually Verstappen who took the win. Norris and Russell closed out the podium.
