After Christian Horner's dismissal, Laurent Mekies took over as team principal of the Austrian squad. After his first weekend in charge, the Frenchman reflected on the updates brought by the team for this Grand Prix. Max Verstappen finished in P4 behind Charles Leclerc, while after switching for slick tyres, Yuki Tsunoda dropped out of the points.

Looking at the latest changes introduced by the team, the Frenchman told GPblog among others: “Obviously, it's difficult to give you much history but certainly the team is happy with the package. In terms of does it bring performance to the car? Yes. Does it bring enough? No. Does it fix all the balance limitations we have? No."
"It's as simple as that. So we still have some work to do," he continued:
According to Mekies, it also has to be taken account that McLaren brought changes to their cars as well.
"But there is no questions on whether we brought performance to the car. We feel we did. Obviously, we cannot ignore the fact that also McLaren had a package this weekend. So it [plays] a huge role in development race between all the teams," he concluded.
