Max Verstappen won what was for him a messy GP weekend in Miami. On Sunday, he was the strongest of the field, but his team also helped him and Sergio Perez optimally in the pit lane. Red Bull Racing were fastest at tyre changes this weekend.

Red Bull chases McLaren in pit lane

Sunday's fastest stop is credited to Red Bull Racing and was Sergio Perez's tyre change with a time of a whopping 2.33 seconds. Max Verstappen's stop time was not much slower with a 2.49. This earns Red Bull a P1 and P3 in the 'pit stop ranking'. The second-fastest time was not from McLaren but from Aston Martin. Lance Stroll's fastest stop was six thousandths faster than Verstappen's.
Red Bull's rival in the pit lane, McLaren, did slightly less business in Miami. The team scored a P5 with Daniel Ricciardo and did not even get into the top ten with Lando Norris. In terms of pit road wins, McLaren is still in the lead this year; it's three for McLaren to two for Red Bull Racing. If points were handed out according to the F1 standings, it would be very close between the teams.
