Verstappen and Ocon teammates? Red Bull responds in playful way

On the same day that it was announced that Esteban Ocon would no longer drive for Alpine after this season, Red Bull also posted on Instagram that an announcement would also be made at the Austrian constructor. Now the chances of Ocon going to Red Bull seem slim, but Red Bull sent a message on social media anyway.

Red Bull itself responded to Ocon's transfer on the medium Threads, a branch of Instagram, by joking. Red Bull joked about the speculation created by giving an unclear announcement. "We understand that, without our agreement, Alpine F1 have released a statement regarding Esteban Ocon, causing wild speculation over our 'Stay tuned' announcement," said Verstappen's team.

There appear to be two major options for Ocon for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Those would be Audi and Haas F1. The Frenchman himself is also unlikely to turn down an offer from Mercedes, but whether he will be asked for the seat next to George Russell remains to be seen. Andrea Kimi Antonelli seems to be the main candidate for that spot.
