After Red Bull Racing and McLaren appealed the stewards' decision to remove Pierre Gasly's time penalties at the Monaco Grand Prix, the date and time for the International Court of Appeal hearing have been set for next week in Paris. The final result of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix is still not set in stone, months after the chequered flag was waved in the Principality. That Sunday,
Isack Hadjar originally finished third, with
Oscar Piastri in fourth. Hadjar also celebrated on the podium alongside Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton.
However, after
Alpine successfully exercised its Right of Review, Gasly's time penalties for speeding in the pit lane were removed, and the Frenchman was promoted to third place.
On 16 June, McLaren and Red Bull lodged an appeal against the stewards' decision to the International Court of Appeal.
The Woking-based team stated
when confirming its appeal in June:
"In our view, the subsequent removal of penalties creates a situation in which some competitors are disadvantaged by having acted in accordance with the rules and the Stewards’ decisions. Such an outcome risks creating sporting inequity and undermining confidence in the consistent application of the FIA Sporting Regulations."Our decision to appeal is not directed at any competitor. Rather, it reflects our belief that the Championship benefits from regulations that are applied consistently, transparently and fairly to all participants.
"McLaren remains committed to working constructively with the FIA, Formula One and fellow competitors to protect the integrity of the sport and maintain confidence in its regulatory framework."
The date is set for the hearing
The hearing will take place on Tuesday, 25 August, starting at 09:00 local time (08:00 BST) in Paris.
The decision will be published as soon as possible after the hearing. The media will not be permitted to attend.
If successful, the appeal would restore Hadjar's first podium with Red Bull Racing as well.
