Oscar Piastri has won the Miami Grand prix ahead of teammate Lando Norris, who cleared the field by over 35 seconds. Impressive result, and the Australian driver knows who is responsible for this level success.

After missing out on the sprint win due to a late safety car on Saturday, on Sunday things went very differently for Piastri.
"I won the race that I really wanted to do. Yesterday was a tricky day. Obviously the sprint was what it was, but qualifying was probably one of my trickiest sessions for the year and to come away with a win still on Sunday is an impressive result," said Piastri during the on the grid interviews.

Piastri happy with the win, but sees 'there's still work to do'

"Obviously there was a bit of argy-bargy at Turn 1, which held me up a little bit. And then, yeah, I was aware enough to avoid Max coming through in Turn 1. From that point onwards, I knew that I had a good pace advantage and clearly the car was unbelievable today."
When Piastri is in the lead of race, there's no turning back, it seems. The Australian explains his race lead management. "I think the first stint was really strong and then the hard stint I was honestly struggling a little bit. So it was a good thing that I built that gap in the first stint."
A gap that teammate Norris was gnawing away at since he overtook Max Verstappen on lap 18. "Towards the end I started to get things a bit more back under control. But there's still definitely some things to work on from this afternoon. So I'm very happy with the win, very happy with the points. But I've constantly got to keep learning."
But ultimately, the success is not only down to the driver, something Piastri is very much aware of.
"It's just incredible the hard work that's gone in [to the car]. I remember two years ago here in Miami we were genuinely the slowest team. I think we got lapped twice."
"And to now have won the Grand Prix by over 35 seconds to third is an unbelievable result and the hard work of every single person, firstly the people here at the track, but everyone at the factory as well."
