Oscar Piastri came home in P2, giving McLaren a 1-2 result, behind teammate Lando Norris due to a penalty that was issued for him by the Stewards. The Aussie driver, remained tight-lipped on his responses on the grid in during the post-race interviews. When asked for his reaction to the race he said: "Yeah, I'm not gonna say much. I'll get myself in trouble."
He then took the time to compliment Nico Hulkenberg on his first-ever F1 podium. "Well done, to Nico. I think that's the highlight of the day. Yeah, I'll leave it at that."
'I did it for 5 laps before that'
Piastri performed a move that was punished by the race officials with a ten-second time penalty that cost him the race win ultimately. When pressed on the subject a sarcastic Piastri said: "Yeah, I mean, apparently you can't break behind the safety car anymore. I mean, I did it for five laps before that, and again, I'm not going to say too much, because I'll get myself in trouble."
The Aussie signed off acknowledging the crowd's admirable effort as they survived the dire weather conditions. "But thanks to the crowd for a great event.. 10:36But thanks to the crowd for a great event. Thanks for sticking through the weather," Piastri concluded.
