Sergio Perez had a tough race in Miami. Prior to the race weekend the Mexican hoped to regain a podium spot, but he failed to beat Carlos Sainz to third. He was very disappointed about that, as he explained in conversation with Formula1.com.
After Lando Norris' crash, the drivers on track had to deal with a safety car. It caused the drivers to move closer together again and Perez had a chance to go for third place. To do so, however, he first had to pass Carlos Sainz, which he was unable to do due to circumstances with his car.
The teammate of Max Verstappen was therefore very disappointed with the situation afterwards. "It’s very frustrating that these things keep happening," Perez stated. "But on the other hand, I mean, on a bad day I managed to finish fourth, which is good."

Perez is ambitious for upcoming races

For Perez, there is no going overboard for the time being. Indeed, the Mexican driver still occupies third place in the world championship, putting him ahead of only Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. "In Barcelona, I want to be back battling at the top," he said.
