Paul Ricard make pitlane changes

The return of the French Grand Prix and the Paul Ricard circuit in 2018 was a welcome one, but the track didn’t come without its quirks.
There was the insane amounts of run off, the chicane on the Mistral straight that the drivers disliked, and the very peculiar pit entrance.
Normally for a pit entrance, cars can just peel off to the side and cruise into the pitlane, but at Paul Ricard, the entrance was on the pit straight, forcing cars to slow down on the straight.
Also, the pit exit made the cars rejoin on the racing line, which was also considered dangerous.
But ahead of the 2019 race, changes have been made to the circuit, including a resurfacing.

Circuit boss Stephane Clair told Var-Matin: “All the corners have been redone. Only the straights remain as they were.
“The new asphalt is of impeccable quality, so we have every reason to assume that all the problems will be solved.
“But the main change concerns the entrance to the pitlane, it will be particularly good for the spectators in that area.”
