George Russell has impressed many during his racing career but unfortunately, he has been unable to shine at Williams so far this season. However, when asked about potential future World Champions, Pat Symonds said that the Brit would be his choice. Having worked with the likes of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, that is quite some compliment!
"I’ll give you a slightly off-the-wall answer," Symonds said to the official F1 website when asked about who he thinks could be a future champion. “Watching George Russell in Formula 2, I’ve been really impressed with him.
"I’ve seen him race really well in so many different circumstances, leading in the front, controlling the race, coming through traffic, wet weather, dry weather, when things have gone wrong he’s kept at it. I’ve got a feeling he might be a guy to watch.”
Russell has a long way to go if he is to make it to the top and one thing is almost certain, Williams won't be the team he wins it with.
