Sergio Pérez experienced another disappointing race during the Russian Grand Prix. The Mexican didn't get any further than ninth place and seems to fall outside the top three in the world championship this season.
The driver of Red Bull Racing analyzes in conversation with the official website of Formula 1 where he thinks it went wrong in Russia. "It's very disappointing of course. I think we were very unlucky. It really could have gone either way. If it had rained a little less, then the people on the inters would have suffered from that."
During his pit stop, Pérez lost a lot of time because of a mistake at his team. "I think we should just look at what went wrong," he judged the incident. "The guys made really fast pit stops. We have to investigate what is going on and hopefully, we can fix it in the future."

Verstappen loses lead to Hamilton

Pérez did see his teammate Max Verstappen perform well. The Dutchman drove from the back of the grid to second place and ensured that his gap to Lewis Hamilton remained as small as possible. Verstappen lost his leading position, but with a difference of two points, he can live with for now.
