Lando Norris has so far disappointed during the Dutch Grand Prix. Prior to the qualifying session, the British driver passed himself off as a possible contender for pole position, but during the sessions, nothing came of it.
The current number three of the world championship managed to survive Q1, but the session later went wrong. After the crash of Nicholas Latifi, who drove hard into the wall, Q2 was suddenly over and Norris had to settle for a thirteenth starting position.
It was not exactly what the McLaren driver was hoping for beforehand. "I think there were just a few little things we didn't have lined up," Norris commented to Sky Sports. "Most are competing for Q3 here. Even with Alfa, Alpine ... Normally we have a good lead over them, but they closed the gap a lot. Also, I think the car is not the most competitive than it has been this season."

Battle for spot three in world championship

His rival Valtteri Bottas did a lot better by securing the third starting position. Sergio Pérez, who is also fighting for third in the world championship, will start from P16 on Sunday.
