With Lando Norris set to make his Formula 1 debut in 2019 at McLaren, the young Brit is still aware of how much work he has to put in in order to justify his spot.
Norris is replacing Stoffel Vandoorne at McLaren, teaming up with Carlos Sainz who takes Fernando Alonso’s seat in an all new line up for the new season.
Norris finished second in Formula 2 behind George Russell who will drive at Williams this year, but Norris still knows he has something to prove.
“I need to do well and show I’m a worthy driver in F1,” Told the Autosport International show.
“In the ideal world, if I was perfect, I’d be able to beat every teammate that I have, in every race.

“That’s very unlikely to happen, I’m not going to be in that situation.”
The 2018 Formula 2 season was the first time in single-seat racing that the new McLaren driver had failed to win a title as he lost out to fellow youngster Russell.
“To be honest I didn’t win the championship last year so it was good enough to learn that I can’t always win.” Added Norris.
