Arvid Lindblad stalled on the grid just as the lights went out, forcing Race Control to add an extra formation lap in order to restore ideal starting conditions.
The Racing Bulls driver had been left stranded on his grid slot, forcing an aborted start. The drivers looked ready to go again on the second attempt, but the recovery of the Racing Bulls car took longer than expected to clear it back to the pit lane.
That forced the FIA to add another formation lap, with the drivers finally getting away at the third attempt as Lando Norris managed to snatch the lead from the two Mercedes cars through Turn 1.
Unfortunately for Norris, his lead did not even last a lap, as his intermediate tyres forced him into the pits - just like his teammate - with the gamble ultimately failing to pay off. Antonelli now leads the way ahead of Russell and Hamilton, while Max Verstappen has climbed up to fourth place.
