Lando Norris is not bothered by negative reactions towards McLaren's approach to the title battle between him and Oscar Piastri.
Like we said we continue to do things our way, whether people agree with is not our problem, and we don't really care about that.

The McLaren driver explained in Azerbaijan that happy with the way they are handling the situation.
Generally speaking, Norris was not surprised by the reactions to the team's decision for him and Piastri to swap positions after a slow stop for the Briton.
"Not in the world that we live in nowadays, because that's all people want to do is be negative and talk badly about others. So honestly, not a surprise," he began in Baku.
"You also need headlines you also need people to read things, so not a surprise at all from my side.
"But it also doesn't affect us as a team like, it's what you expect nowadays and I think in the world that we live in is more negativity than ever positivity.
"Like we said we continue to do things our way, whether people agree with is not our problem, and we don't really care about that."
He added that the team is "happy" at the moment. "We focus on ourselves. Of course you always want good things to come out of it, the team are trying to do a good thing.
"Whether people agree in the end of the day is not our problem. We want it to be fair, we want it to be equal for both of us, and people can comment whatever they like after that," the Briton concluded.

McLaren's team orders at Monza

At the Italian Grand Prix, the Woking-based team pitted Oscar Piastri earlier to protect him from an undercut by Charles Leclerc.
However, after a mistake during Norris' pit stop, the Briton returned to the track behind his teammate. Piastri was then instructed to give the place back to Norris.
After the session, the McLaren drivers were booed by the Italian fans, while the Tifosi sang Max Verstappen's name.

Title battle enters its last chapter

Entering the final third of the 2025 season, Norris trails his teammate by 31 points in the standings.
The Woking-based team could also secure a key objective in Baku. If results go their way, McLaren will be crowned constructors’ champions for the second year in a row in Azerbaijan.
