After the Saudi Arabia GP, Lando Norris fell back to second place in the drivers' standings. The British driver is however not worried, he explained in Miami.

Norris remains calm despite Piastri's lead in the standings

In Jeddah, Oscar Piastri managed to win his third Grand Prix of the current campaign, and as Norris only finished in P4 after crashing in qualifying, the Australian driver took the lead in the drivers' championship.
About his teammates form, Norris said: "No, not worried at all. He’s doing a good job and he deserves it. Nothing more than that. I don’t believe so much in the momentum stuff – that’s just my opinion."
The Briton continued: "I’m doing what I can. I’ve clearly made some mistakes and not at the level I need to be, but I believe I can be at that level soon enough. So no reason to be worried. It’s round six of 24. I’m not going to say that forever, but I know I need to get a move on and get into gear a little bit. I’m doing the best I can every weekend at the minute, trying to improve."
He also sees no reason why he can't make up for his mistakes. "The speed is there, the pace is there, the race pace is definitely there. It’s just one thing I need to tidy up. It’s a difficult thing, but I’m confident I’ll get it," he concluded.
So far this season, Piastri has collected 99 points in 2025, 10 more than Norris. Max Verstappen is also close behind the Briton, only trailing him by two points entering the Miami GP, where the McLaren driver managed to win his first ever race last season.
