The F1 start of the Monaco GP was not as chaotic as the one in Formula 2. Afterwards, there were no changes in positions inside the Top 7, but for an incident in Portier, the VSC was 'called out'.
Charles Leclerc got off to a better start than Lando Norris in Monte-Carlo, and the British driver locked up heavily into Sainte Devote. Still, because of the proximity of the wall, the Monegasque driver had nowhere to go, and the Briton could keep the lead.
In the hairpin, Gabriel Bortoleto could pull off a great overtake on Kimi Antonelli, however, into Portier, the young Brazilian hit the wall.
The rookie could reverse out of the barrier, and could continue, but the VSC was 'called out' on track. As a result, Yuki Tsunoda, Pierre Gasly, Oliver Bearman and Bortoleto all made their first of the two mandatory pit stops this afternoon.
