Leclerc topped all three practice sessions over the course of the weekend. However, it was Norris who landed in pole position on Saturday after beating Leclerc by one-tenth of a second.
Starting from the second row is Norris's teammate, Piastri, and now Max Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton was given a three-place grid penalty after an impeding incident during qualifying. Hamilton will now start from seventh instead of on the second row. Verstappen, Isack Hadjar, and Fernando Alonso all moved up a position due to Hamilton's penalty.
Hamilton was not the only one given a penalty as Lance Stroll received two penalties, he qualified 19th and due to Oliver Bearman having a 10 place grid penalty, Stroll will start 19th despite having a four place grid penalty. Bearman, who qualified 18th, will start 20th.
