Lando Norris has reacted fiercely to the earlier suggestion by Red Bull Racing that McLaren would tamper with water to better manage the tyre temperature. According to Norris, the accusation is baseless and is 'something you learn in kindergarten'.
McLaren is setting the standard this season in Formula 1. Not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of tyre management, the British racing team is outsmarting the entire field. The team is particularly strong in controlling tire temperatures, something that raised questions among the competitors.
Red Bull was suspected of injecting water into the tires to keep them cool, or that there was tampering through the brake channels. The FIA decided to carry out checks, but found no indication of irregularities.

Norris compares Red Bull's behaviour to kindergarten

In the podcast Beyond the Grid, Norris reacts to the accusations of his rivals. "You learn that in pre-school," he says dryly in the Beyond the Grid podcast."It’s been very amusing seeing what people can come up with and just create out of nonsense."
According to the current number two in the F1 championship, this is part and parcel of being at the top. "We’re under more scrutiny. There’s more checks, there’s been more rules, there’s been more implements of things to try slow us down and make things more difficult."
"And sometimes, you know, it’s individuals coming out with just some bizarre theories of water and tyres or in the brake ducts and all that stuff, which means you’re doing it the right thing," concluded Norris.
