Lando Norris has been noted for an off-track overtake of Yuki Tsunoda at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and a potential penalty may be handed out. Norris pitted on Lap 17/58 of the season finale, with a podium finish all he needs to beat
Max Verstappen and teammate
Oscar Piastri to win the 2025 World Championship.
After pitting, he ended up behind plenty of traffic, including the Red Bull of Tsunoda, and Verstappen's teammate would be tasked with trying to hold up Norris to give the Dutchman the chance to win the title.
Going down the DRS straight at the
Yas Marina Circuit, Norris closed the gap to Tsunoda with DRS, and an aggressive move from the Red Bull driver saw him slam the door on the
McLaren man as he looked for a move up the inside.
Due to that move by Tsunoda, Norris had to go right to the edges of the track, and a potential off-track overtake was then noted by the stewards. Tsunoda was also noted for dangerous driving, and he was then handed a five-second time penalty for it.
On the other hand, Norris escaped any punishment, keeping him on track in the season finale.
