Lando Norris walks into the Russian Grand Prix in a fine mood after finishing as the 'best of the rest' driver last weekend in Singapore. The Brit aims to make the most fo some "unexpected opportunities" during the coming weekend.
Since the summer break, Renault have closed the gap to McLaren to just 22 points with five races remaining. Ahead of the summer break, McLaren were cruising but a couple of Carlos Sainz DNF's and an improvement from Renault has put the pressure on for the fourth place battle.
First and foremost, Norris is looking to use last weeks result to propel his team forward.
"We had a pretty good race last weekend in Singapore and now I'm looking to carry that momentum forward to the next race. We know that the midfield battle is tight and that making the most of unexpected opportunities is key to staying ahead of the competition," Norris said.
"I'm excited to be heading back to Sochi, having driven there in FP1 and F2 last year. I'll be able to hit the ground running and start finding performance right from FP1."
